Said & Done is Echo Fold’s latest single that was a surprise drop as October closes out. The neo-soul, disco funk band are back boasting beautifully layered vocals, a catchy tune, and intricate guitar riffs.
This band has a consistent sound and engaging lyric. Lauren McCauley’s vocals are angelic, moving back and forth between high and low with a seamless flow. Echo Fold’s songs have a steady feel to them, emphasised by the strong presence of the percussion half of the band. Similarly to their last drop, Acceptance, this single gives you the impression of musicians who are well versed in their respective instruments and are well aware of how they want them to sound in studio. Said & Done is a little more decorated in terms of musical additions, riffs, and runs, compared to their previous release, but this shows that Echo Fold is capable of being a versatile band whilst still maintaining their cultivated sound and image, something that is a big draw for both old and new audience and often hard to achieve for some.
I hope to see many more releases from this band in the near future and if you want to treat yourself this week then you should head to their gig in Sin É on October 25th. One thing that is undeniable about Echo Fold is that they put on a phenomenal show in their live performance. Pairing this with their smooth studio sound, all that is left is to hear some more releases from them.
